Crackers with Lunch Meat & Cheese

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 1–2 minutes (optional)
Total Time: ~5 minutes
Serving Size: 4–6 crackers
Number of Servings: 1–2

Ingredients

• 6–8 crackers
• 4–6 slices lunch meat (turkey, roast beef, chicken, etc.)
• 4–6 small slices cheese

Not Counted (but used):
• Black pepper
• Mustard or mayo (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crackers.
Lay crackers on a plate or board in a single layer.

  2. Assemble the crackers.
Add cheese and lunch meat to each cracker.
    You can do:
    • Cheese first, then meat
    • Or meat first, then cheese

    Both work well.

  3. Optional: melt the cheese.
Use a kitchen torch to lightly melt and brown the cheese.
Move the flame constantly and do not hold it in one spot too long.

    The cheese should:
    • Melt slightly
    • Bubble lightly
    • Get a little golden color

  4. Season.
Add black pepper or a small amount of mustard or mayo if desired.

  5. Serve immediately.
Best eaten fresh while the crackers stay crisp.

Tips

• A kitchen torch works best with cheeses that melt easily.
• Keep the flame moving so the crackers don’t burn.
• Fold the lunch meat instead of laying it flat for better texture and presentation.
• Roast beef, turkey, chicken, cheddar, Swiss, and provolone all work well.
• Great for quick snacks, lunch boards, or easy appetizers.
