• 6–10 crackers

Instructions
Open the sardines.
Drain the can if desired. Some people like to keep a little of the oil for extra flavor.Optional: warm the sardines.
Place the sardines in a skillet over medium heat for 1–2 minutes per side until warmed through.This can enhance the flavor and create a slightly crisp exterior.
Prepare the crackers.
Arrange crackers on a plate, cutting board, or serving tray.Add the sardines.
Place a piece of sardine on each cracker.You can leave them whole or break them into smaller pieces.
Add toppings if desired.
Top with pickled onions, cheese, avocado, lemon, or any other toppings you enjoy.Serve immediately.
