Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef or ground turkey
15 oz can tomato sauce
15 oz can red beans, drained
15 oz can chili beans, undrained
2 tbsp chili powder (or 1 packet chili seasoning, to taste)
Salt & pepper (to taste)
Optional:
15 oz can diced tomatoes
1 small onion, finely chopped
Instructions:
Brown Meat: Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef or turkey and cook until browned, stirring occasionally. Drain excess fat.
Add Veggies (Optional): If using diced tomatoes and onion, add them to the pot. Cook for 3-5 minutes until softened.
Add Beans & Sauce: Stir in tomato sauce, drained red beans, and undrained chili beans. Mix well.
Season: Add chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
Simmer: Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Serve: Ladle into bowls. Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, or green onions if desired.
Tips:
