Ingredients:

  • 6 taco-sized tortillas

  • 1 lb ground beef (divided into 6 small patties)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Optional Toppings:

  • Big Mac sauce (or your favorite burger sauce)

  • Shredded lettuce

  • Diced white onion

  • Pickles

  • Chopped tomatoes

Instructions:

  1. Shape the Patties: Divide the ground beef into 6 equal portions and shape them into thin, flat patties slightly larger than the tortillas.

    • To prevent shrinking: Press patties very thin (about ¼ inch thick).

    • Pressing trick: Flatten using parchment paper or plastic wrap with a flat-bottomed plate or burger press for even shaping.

    • Dimple the center: Press a small indent in the middle of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

  2. Cook the Patties: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.

  3. Toast the Tortillas (Optional for Extra Crispiness): Toast tortillas in a dry skillet for 30 seconds per side until lightly golden.

  4. Add Tortillas to Patties: Place a tortilla on top of each patty while still in the skillet. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  5. Assemble the Taco Burgers: Flip the tacos so the tortilla side is down. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the patty and add your favorite toppings like sauce, lettuce, onion, pickles, and tomatoes.

  6. Serve & Enjoy: Serve warm and enjoy immediately.

Tips:

  • Customize Toppings: Try jalapeños, avocado, rice, beans or your favorite condiments to switch things up.
