Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

  • 1 tsp avocado oil

  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the chickpeas:
    – Drain and rinse the chickpeas well.
    – Pat them completely dry with a clean towel or paper towels — this is key for crispiness.
    – Optionally, remove loose skins (but not necessary).

  2. Season:
    – Toss the chickpeas with avocado oil and salt.
    – Don’t add any other seasoning until after cooking — it can burn.

  3. Air fry:
    – Place chickpeas in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
    – Air fry at 375°F for 12–15 minutes, shaking once halfway through.
    – Cook until golden and crisp, but not burned. Watch closely near the end.

  4. Cool completely:
    – Transfer to a plate or rack and let them cool fully.
    – They get crispier as they cool and will stay crispy longer this way.

Tips

  • Store in a container without the lid or loosely covered — airtight containers trap moisture.

  • If they soften the next day, pop them back in the air fryer for 1–2 minutes.

  • You can add extra spices (like paprika or garlic powder) after air frying.
