Roasted Nuts

Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 5–8 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Servings: Varies

Ingredients

  • Raw, unsalted nuts of your choice (almonds, walnuts, pecans, cashews, hazelnuts, or pistachios)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. Spread the nuts: Arrange the nuts in a single layer on a baking sheet.

  3. Roast: Bake for 5–8 minutes, checking frequently, until lightly golden and fragrant. Larger or whole nuts may need a few extra minutes.

  4. Cool: Remove from the oven and let cool completely. They will become crunchier as they cool.

Tips

  • Best nuts for roasting: Almonds, walnuts, pecans, cashews, hazelnuts, pistachios, and macadamia nuts.

  • Watch closely: Nuts can burn quickly, especially smaller pieces or nuts with a higher fat content.

  • No oil needed: Nuts naturally contain oils, so there's no need to add any.

  • Even roasting: Roast similar-sized nuts together, since different varieties may require different cooking times.

  • Storage: Once cooled, store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate or freeze for longer freshness.

  • Serving ideas: Add to salads, oatmeal, yogurt bowls, homemade granola, baked goods, or enjoy as a simple snack.
