1 tsp avocado oil
Salt, to taste

Instructions
Prep the plantain:
– Cut off both ends.
– Make a shallow slice along the peel and remove the skin.
– Slice into thin rounds (about ⅛ inch thick) or cut lengthwise into strips.(Optional soak):
– You can soak the slices in salted water for 5–10 minutes to reduce starch and help with crisping, but this step is optional.
– If soaking, drain and pat dry before air frying.Season:
– Toss the plantain slices with avocado oil and a pinch of salt.Air fry:
– Place in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
– Air fry at 375°F for 10–12 minutes.
– No need to flip. Cook until edges are golden and crispy.Cool completely:
– Let the chips cool fully on a wire rack or plate before eating and/or storing.
– They’ll crisp up more as they cool.
Tips
Use green plantains for a crispier, savory chip. Yellow plantains are softer and slightly sweet.
Cooling is key — they finish crisping as they cool.
Eat fresh or re-crisp for 1–2 minutes in the air fryer if storing.
